A nine-minute, multi-screen Overture film introduces visitors to the landscapes of North Carolina, both cultural and environmental, while communicating the vision of the Commons.
Second Story produced the Overture film with the collaboration of the Institute for Emerging Issues along with its founder, former governor Jim Hunt, who lent us his voice and vision. The film looks back at the history of the state through the eyes of Hunt, who paints a picture of the past, present, and future through his personal experience. Archival and contemporary vignettes in the flanking monitors provide grace notes for the primary narrative. With an original soundtrack and gorgeous footage shot on location across the state, the film sets a tone of promise for visitors, leaving them inspired.
